Board of Directors

A volunteer board of directors oversees the Centre. Board membership is a volunteer post that is obtained through careful interviewing and vetting to ensure the makeup of the Board is indicative of the population we serve, along with the work items noted within the agency’s strategic plan. The Board holds a regular meeting every other month. Individual board members are expected to participate in committee work, and special meetings may be called as needed. Board member terms are 2-3 years or until an event causes a Board vacancy, per the Welcome Centre bylaws. The Board has several active committees at any given time, which may include staff involvement.
