We’re honoured to share that the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women has been generously selected as a grant recipient of $3,900 from the Girard Riberdy Fund, through the WindsorEssex Community Foundation.
This generous support will help strengthen several of our core programs and services that make a difference in the lives of women+ and families every day. The funding will be used to help keep essential programs running strong, including our children’s program, which provides safe and engaging spaces for kids to play while in shelter. It will also support our peer support program, ensuring that women continue to receive one-on-one guidance and encouragement from those with lived experience who understand their journey.
In addition, the grant will help sustain our marketing and donor relations efforts, allowing us to share impact stories, connect with our community, and inspire continued support. It will also assist in maintaining our volunteer coordination program, which engages and supports the many dedicated volunteers who give their time to make a difference at the shelter. Finally, this funding will strengthen our harm reduction initiatives, helping us continue to offer compassionate, non-judgmental care and resources to those navigating substance use.
Each of these programs plays an important role in helping women+ and families find safety, hope, and a path forward. We are deeply grateful to the Girard Riberdy Fund and the WindsorEssex Community Foundation for recognizing the value of this work and supporting the ongoing impact of the Welcome Centre Shelter.
Together, we’re building a stronger, more caring community where every woman and family has the opportunity to feel safe, supported, and at home.
