Canada Post’s Community Foundation is continuing its commitment to supporting children, youth, and families across the country. This year, the Foundation awarded $1.6 million in grants to 144 grassroots organizations, schools, and community groups dedicated to improving lives and building stronger communities.
We’re proud to share that the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women & Families was selected as one of this year’s recipients. This generous support will enable us to continue expanding and growing as we enter a new chapter in the shelter’s history. Funding from this grant will support the launch of our new food service enterprise, helping us purchase new kitchen equipment and develop a dedicated website for the program’s November debut.
The food service social enterprise is designed to create a new, sustainable source of revenue for the shelter, offering catering options such as pasta, wraps, and other meals to individuals and businesses in the community. Every order supports the Welcome Centre’s mission to provide safe shelter and essential services to women and families in need.
The Canada Post Community Foundation’s funding makes a real difference — not only here in Windsor but across Canada. From literacy programs and youth outreach to Indigenous reconciliation initiatives, the Foundation continues to invest in projects that create lasting, positive change for future generations.
We’re deeply grateful for this recognition and support, and we extend our congratulations to all the other organizations making a difference in their communities.
