Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at The Welcome Centre Shelter.
If you’re looking for a way to give back to your community and make a difference to women and families experiencing homelessness, you’ve come to the right place!
We rely on volunteers from all walks of life who bring different skills and experiences to the Welcome Centre Shelter. As the demand for affordable housing rises and the increase in homelessness in our community grows, volunteers are increasingly vital to the work we do.
All volunteers working directly with our programs and services are screened by way of Vulnerable Sector Police clearance. Other required information is a resume and references.
Don’t see an exact fit? We still want to hear from you. Please email m.pope@welcomecentreshelter.com and specify what volunteer role you are interested in.
We constantly review volunteer applications and will match applicants with the right volunteer role, and you may be contacted for an interview. Applications are kept on file if a match can’t be found right away – it may take some time to be contacted for a volunteer position. We thank all interested volunteers for their interest; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.
