We are an emergency shelter for women+ and families experiencing homelessness dedicated to assisting self-identified women+, families, and children facing homelessness and related challenges. As a non-profit organization, we have been steadfast in our mission, offering a range of programs and services since our establishment in 1990.
Welcome Home.
The agency works to be very aware of our role within the larger emergency housing system and limit our core efforts to evidence-based practices known to alleviate and respond to chronic homelessness. Our staff provides programs and services to assist those experiencing homelessness in Windsor-Essex County. We are grateful to the hundreds of volunteers who offer support through their time, energy and resources.
How We Can Help
The Welcome Centre acknowledges that the existence of homelessness amongst women is due to multiple oppressions, including the lack of safe, affordable, quality housing, sexism, racism and classism. Utilizing this framework to meet the needs of women in our community.
Programs are based upon Housing First as a core philosophy. As an emergency shelter, the agency works to be very aware of our role within the larger emergency housing system and limit our core efforts to evidence-based practices known to alleviate and respond to chronic homelessness.
Donate Today.
A donation to the Welcome Centre Shelter ensures that women, families and children across Windsor-Essex County can get the support they need to transition into stable housing.
YOUR advocacy and support play a huge role in the success and accessibility of our programs and services in our community.
